The Way of the Ruok
The Sequel to The Twelve Tribes:
Once there were Twelve Tribes, separated by a strange astrological religion and hundreds of miles of ancient California forests. “Unify or die” was the final prophecy of Ulupi, the head of the shamanic order known as the Ruoks. Thus begins the quest of Tumock, Ruok trickster, to unify the divided tribes. Joining him are some unlikely companions, including Este, an escaped neophyte from a Spanish mission, formerly known as Esther. Este’s desperate search for her long lost family leads the tribes toward a dark fate set into motion almost twenty years before. And Hamm, British adventurer, sent to the new world by an ancient brotherhood to search for the secrets of a missing brother who is the founder of the Twelve Tribes.
Reviews
I found myself reading for hours on end in to the early hours of morning not wanting to put the book down wanting to read more and promising myself I would stop and go to sleep and end up lying to myself because I just had to read on more. By the time I reach the end of the book I was like WHAT THAT’S IT??? OMG, there has to be a book 3! I am PREORDERING my BOOK 3 copy now! Everyone should pick up the series and give it a try! Book 2 gave me some laughs I wasn’t expecting and enjoyed!

I feel like there is a lot more going on in your work than just a good story – I really felt the shaman journeying in my life (and dreams!) while I was reading this book. I think it’s still affecting me to be honest. Shamanism is something that I’ve been scared of before but I think I’m feeling more welcoming these days. So – thank you!

As an editor, you start out by cutting with a scalpel and end up cutting with an axe . In 2012, I published a sequel to my first book, the Twelve Tribes. I called this sequel "Ruok". It was what I will kindly call a rough draft - although I didn't realize it at the time. Last year, on sudden inspiration, I cut about 100 pages out, removed a major character, rewrote a good deal of it, and gave it a much better ending. I think this version is much better, and a more worthy sequel to The Twelve Tribes.
It's currently only available on Kindle. There will be paperbacks at some point. For fans of the first book, if you want to pre-order a paper copy, this will help me afford the print run quicker. Preorders can be made through Paypal by sending $20 to dreamtidespress@yahoo.com, which covers the book and shipping. Just leave a note saying what book you are ordering and a mailing address. All pre-orders are GUARANTEED.
